 Altai Tavan Bogd National Park: Tavan Bogd (Five Saints) is a soaring cluster of mountains that straddles the border between Mongolia, Russia and China. The highest peak in the range, Khuiten Uul (Cold peak: 4374m), is the tallest mountain in Mongolia and is of interest to professional climbers. Besides Khuiten, the range includes Naran(Sun), Ulgii (land), Burged (Eagle) and Nairamdal (Friendship)uuls. In 2006 the president of Mongolia climbed Khuiten and renamed it IKH MONGOL.

1.Ulaanbaatar
Arrive in Ulaanbaatar. Our staff will meet you and transfer to the hotel. After having some rest, sightseeing in the city. Visit to National History Museum, Natural History Museum and Gandan lamasery.

2.Ulgii
Early morning flight to the capital of the Ulgii. Our driver will wait you at the airport. Driver to Altai Tavan Bogd National Park. Camp on the way.

3.Shiveet Khairkhan
Driving to the Shiveet Hairhan Mountain, in Altai Tavanbogd National Park , where numerous Tuvan nomads live. Shiveet Hairhan is a holy mountain, so there is nobody hunting, and usually possible to see Altai Ibex in the early morning.

4.Shiveet Khairkhan
Today we will trek to the base camp area at the edge of the Potanina glacier that runs down from the highest mountains in Mongolia.

5.Tsagaan river
Trek for two days to the other side of the Tsaagan River to Shiveet Hairhan Mountain. Here we will now be able to view the biggest petrolgyphs from the period of the Huns (approx 200 B.C.).

6.Tsagaan river
Today we will arrive at the Tsagaan river. Have relaxed and prepare for the next days trek.

7.Tsagan Khairkhan Uul
Another two days trekking to cross the Altai Mountains range which is a total of 32km. You will be able to see remote and spectacular country from around 3600m high.

8.Tsagan Khairkhan Uul
Continue trekking. Today we will cross very near the peak of Tsaagan Hairhan Uul (Holy White peak 3668m being the highest elevation of our journey). This is the habitat of the Snow Leopard and its prey species the Siberian Ibex, as well as the rare Altai Snowcock.

9.Ulgii
Back to Ulgii. Drive through dramatic steppe valley along the Hoton River that drains from the Altai Tavanbogd massif creating a series of beautiful lakes.

Arrive in Ulgii. On the way visit to Eagle-hunting nomadic family.

11.Ulaanbaatar
Take a flight to Ulaanbaatar. Free for your leisure. In the evening enjoy Mongolian traditional folklore concert. Farewell dinner hosted by our company.
