Mongolian and Russian archeologists have found an early 8th-century Tureg tomb at a place in Zaamar, Tuv aimag. It was unearthed after digging 6 meters.
Indications are that the tomb was for the ashes of an important military commander. A number of wooden and clay human figures, as also of birds, horses, oxen, lions, fish and pigs have been found inside it. A stone tablet contains a record of what he did in his life.
